In order to support the continuous development of the Groups business in the region,Rakesh Makhija, presently Managing Director SKF India Limited,has been appointed President,Asia.
In his new role Rakesh Makhija will have an overall coordinating responsibility for the region and will be responsible for developing an efficient infrastructure for the Group to support the continued growth.The operational structure will remain with the divisions.
Rakesh Makhija will be based in Shanghai and report to Tom Johnstone,SKF President and CEO.He will also become member of the SKF Group Management.The appointment is effective as of 1 January 2010.
Shishir Joshipura has been appointed as additional director and managing director of SKF India a technology and solutions provider of bearings,seals and related products.Hewill be taking the new position on 1 December,2009 replacing Rakesh Makhija, the current managing director of the company.
Based in Shanghai,Makhija will be a member of SKF group and report to Tom Johnstone,SKF group president and CEO.
